A Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon
OK, I have a confession to make. I read Diana Gabaldon. While I'm pretty sure she's found in the romance section at your favorite bookseller, I prefer to think of it as somewhat historical fiction. The time travel part being the fiction, of course, and well, everything else too. A Breath of Snow and Ashes is the sixth book in this series and unfortunately a much harder read than the first five, which isn't good when you've nearly 1,000 pages to get through. This installment of the series is set in America during the revolutionary war period. Jamie and Claire Fraser must walk the fine line between loyalty to the throne, to which he had previously sworn and oath, and knowing the rebels ulitimately will previal. Then you've got your basic kidnappings, murder, rape and lots of lust throughout. This book was tedious at times but truth is, if/when she publishes the next installment, I'll probably give it a go. I am hooked after all.
