Maggie Sweet by Judith Minthorn Stacy

I swanee, that's funny Southern book. Maggie Sweet, a forced stay-at-home mom but wanna-be hairdresser, hits midlife square between the eyes, realizing she's lived her life for other people while her dreams are dying. It's the perfect storm of a non-attentive, overbearing husband, parents with high expectations and standards and the return of her about-to-be divorced high school sweetheart. With the help of her best friend and a perm gone bad, Maggie breaks out and sets herself free. Amazing how she can fix her life with no negative consequences but I guess that's the beauty of fiction.
